Education is a fundamental right for every girl, and we can ensure that by spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene(Diwali) – 2022
Amid the rising concern over high school drop-out rate of girls due to menstrual hygiene issues and to promote safe and hygienic-sanitary practices among them, sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators for safe disposal are being installed at government- high schools and low-income private schools in identified schools in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
By ensuring the availability of Sanitary Napkins, any unhygienic practices due to lack of availability of napkins during periods and by providing incinerators for safe disposal, many major infections can be prevented which will not only promote better health and hygiene but also provide an opportunity to create awareness starting at school level.
This Diwali, we have installed two sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators in association with Teach for India @TeachForIndiaat Government High School NBT Nagar and Government High school, Shaikpet sponsored by anonymous donors.

Approximate cost for vending machine and incinerator per school is INR 30,000 and Sanitary Napkins cost is about INR 2.8/napkin, overall cost depends on number of students in the identified school.
